An introductory workshop to encaustic painting, made easy and fun: a combination of photography/ inkjet prints with pigmented beeswax. Bring in your favorite imagery for a hot treatment: we will be painting on top of the image with layers of beeswax, then incise a fine line drawing in the top layers and add some stain for a beautiful patina.
Participants must bring their own imagery to use in this project. The images have to be inkjet prints, printed on matte photo paper or absorbent watercolor paper. Image size should be 8”x8” – please bring two images to work with. The images should be black and white.
Note: it is very important that the image is printed on MATTE (photo paper) or WATERCOLOR quality paper. If you do not have where to print your image, please email me the full res image and I will print it for you.
Materials: carving and cutting tools, beeswax, hot plate, glue, brayer, wood panel, stain
Fee: $65.00, ALL materials included.
You can also choose to pay at the time of the class, just email to sign up. Also feel free to email with any questions.
Participants: Min: 3 / Max: 12
Registration Deadline: September 10, 2014
What exactly is the registration deadline?
It is necessary to know that there are enough participants who will take the class three days before it is scheduled. If enough participants register by the deadline, participants can still sign up until the class is full. Register early to help your class run!
